AFC 0 LEIGHTON TOWN 6

League leaders, Leighton Town were welcomed by AFC Dunstable for a cracking afternoon of football for the reds with a high scoring 6-0 victory.

A promising early period for the OD’s couldn’t see them through to earn morale boosting points after Dunstable fell three goals behind before half time. It all started after referee, Jorden Gibson pointed to the spot against the OD’s following a foul committed in the box which forward, Godlove Oppong slotted away in fine fashion, sealing the deal for a memorable moment in the campaign after making it a brace in the 78th minute.

There isn’t much in it for either team anymore having met on opposing sides to the table with AFC Dunstable stagnant in 22nd 6 points behind Rayners Lane. Following Hitchin Town’s 1-0 defeat to Flackwell Heath earlier in the afternoon, Leighton push further away enjoying a luxurious 11 point gap, which manager Paul Reed will expect his players to make an immense use of not being far off the end to the season.
